Date nights aren’t cheap. I don’t care if you’ve been together for years or a few months, unless you’re dining at Costco (which I’m totally not opposed to because a $1.50 hot dog and drink combo is unbeatable), then your credit card could probably use a break.
Dinner, movies, drinks, concerts, museums - that shit adds up! And if you’re trying to impress your lady, or at least trying to keep the spark alive, you could go broke over steak frites.
stand write before you with three date night ideas for staying IN. Now don’t get me wrong, I love going out, but a night in every now and then can be just as fun and romantic. Just think of all the traffic you don't have to sit in and all the parking spots you don't have to search for (LA residents, do you feel me?)!
Make homemade pizza + watch Netflix: Homemade pizza is good, and if you're intimidated by it because your recipe index extends as far as Chef Boyardee, I promise it's easy. Plus, there’s something kind of sexy about making pizza, right? All the kneading, sauce pouring and flour flying in the air. So hot. And once the pizza is done, you can gorge on every episode of House of Cards on Netflix. Sound fun? Tip: Trader Joe’s sells pre-made dough in three flavors, as well as sauce, if you don't want to make it from scratch.
Have a cheese and wine night: If you’re not a wine-o yet, it’s time to become one because this is the best date night ever. I love this idea because it really gives you time to unwind and talk (or get to know each other if you're in the early stages). There’s also something mildly romantic about the food itself; maybe it’s because they’re finger foods or maybe it's because you have had a flew glasses of wine, it just works. So grab a bottle of vino, throw together a cheese plate (loving this video tutorial from Quinn Cooper Style on how to make a cheese plate) and call it a night with yo hunayyy. Trust me on this.
Champagne + game night: Do you like to save money? Do you like to have a good time? Then whip out Mouse Trap because you're about to be mind blown. Tip: I like to add champagne to the mix to make it feel a little fancier than just a "game night." Idk, that electric buzz during Operation doesn't exactly scream "do me," but the champagne does. Need some game ideas? Try Jenga, Scrabble, Monopoly, Speed, Black Jack, puzzles, Hide and Go Seek, Sexy Dice...there are sooo many options. The Gold playing cards can be found here.
