I’m going to be honest, The last few months have been busy. Not trying to brag or anything, but it’s super hard trying to juggle work, yoga, and binge watching Gilmore Girls on Netflix. #TeamChristopher

Anyway, I'm back feeling creative and in the mood to dump some intergalactic love bombs on you after seeing Interstellar, which I recommend if you're into space, Matthew McConaughey, and anything Christopher Nolan has done.

P.S. If you end up seeing Interstellar, be warned it's the kind of tear-jerker that will make you think: I didn't expect to cry three times in this...like when I went to see Click.

I realized I have a lot of advice on my blog. Like, a lot. So I thought it might be a good time to pull it all together so you can easily access whatever it is you need, all in one place.

Gwen Stefani Wedding

It's time for a serious throwback because it's Monday, and you're useless anyway today. Here's a look back on some unforgettable, and maybe forgotten weddings from the past.

Mick Jagger Wedding

The other night I was on the treadmill at the gym when a much older man approached me asking if he could bother me for some advice since I was the only one without headphones on.

A little surprised and nervous about what he might ask, or where he was going to go with the question (heard of stranger danger?), I said "sure!"

"I need some dating advice, can you tell me if this is a good idea?" he asked.

"You see, I have a second date with a woman and I'm not sure if this is a good idea. If you were going on a date, and had to drive separately, what would you think if the gentleman you met had the valet put a rose on your windshield when you left?"

I told him I thought it was a great idea and that he should definitely do it, of course (but really wanted to shout YOLO).

He then expressed relief and said "Really? Damn, I'm 70 and getting back in the dating game. This is like some teenage shit."

What a guy.

I was so struck that a 70-year-old man was being so candid with a total stranger, and of all things he was doing to impress a woman, was simply putting a rose on her windshield. It seemed so antiquated in this day and age, yet so refreshing.

I think we often overthink things when it comes to dating, and we certainly hold back in fear of what the other person might think, in the beginning, at least. I mean, God forbid you act too interested too soon by doing something as sweet as putting a rose on her windshield.

However, if there was ever a better lesson in dating, this man reminded me that it doesn't matter what you do, any gesture from the heart is a good one. And if, for any reason, the person you're trying to impress thinks otherwise, screw em.

There will be someone, somewhere else, who will appreciate all that you do (YOLO).

Movie Recommendation: Swingers

Has there ever been a movie that so brilliantly paints bromance and what it's like to be a guy with seemingly delusional feelings after a breakup, all while saying the F word 95 times, than Swingers? Don't think so.

I recently saw it for the first time and it became an instant favorite for obvious reasons like Big Bad VooDoo Daddy having a role. JK, that wasn't an obvious reason, obviously.

From the 90s, LA nostalgia, to the dating woes and amazing one liners, this movie rules.

Movie Recommendation: Swingers

First dates. Don'tcha love them? I wrote about my experience here, but if you're too lazy to read it, here's the CliffsNotes version: I was too shy to eat my food, I barely said a word the entire time and my jeans ripped in the crotch mid-date. But since I was too embarrassed to say anything, I instead walked like a penguin for the rest of the night trying to conceal the rip with my purse.

Don't pity me.

Yes, first dates tend to be terrifying for most, but once they're in the past, all you can do is look back and laugh.

So in the spirit of first dates, I asked a few friends to share their experiences. Enjoy:

8 Inspiring Engagement Stories Catherine Deneuve

I never used to be the type to melt over stuff like weddings, probably because of this and this. It just wasn't me to look at engagement rings or dream up wedding dresses. While I'm still not really that girl, the idea of love has totally changed for me over the years as I myself have experienced it incredibly, and I've watched so many friends fall in love too.

So, I'm very excited to share one of my favorite Instagram accounts, @Stone_Fox_Bride. If you aren't familiar, they're a bridal shop specializing in unique rings, dresses, veils and even everyday clothing.

What drew me to them is their kick ass approach to love and weddings. Not only is their Instagram account flourishing with awe-inspiring photos of love and life, but they tell the tales of their clients' engagement stories through images of the rings they buy. Some are sweet, some are funny, and some make me do a double take.

I pulled a few of my favorites for you. I hope you enjoy these as much as I did...

8 Inspiring Engagement Stories

It's not the ring he proposed with... This one belonged to her step grandmother. He proposed while she was flossing her teeth. He handed her a note with a drawing of a ring on it and two boxes. It said "check yes or no".

First kiss strangers kissing tatia pilieva

We all remember our first kiss with a person; no matter how good or bad, it's a moment that's unforgettable which is why this short film by LA based filmmaker Tatia Pilieva really sang to me.

Pilieva captured 20 strangers locking lips for the very first time in First Kiss, a video that romantically documents every emotion during that pivotal moment.

Surprisingly, after a few minutes of nervous conversation between each couple, every one of them passionately embraced leaving you wondering, hoping, that's how good any of your first kisses looked. Enjoy...

3 Date Night Ideas for Staying In free people roshambo

Date nights aren’t cheap. I don’t care if you’ve been together for years or a few months, unless you’re dining at Costco (which I’m totally not opposed to because a $1.50 hot dog and drink combo is unbeatable), then your credit card could probably use a break.

Dinner, movies, drinks, concerts, museums - that shit adds up! And if you’re trying to impress your lady, or at least trying to keep the spark alive, you could go broke over steak frites.

So I stand write before you with three date night ideas for staying IN. Now don’t get me wrong, I love going out, but a night in every now and then can be just as fun and romantic. Just think of all the traffic you don't have to sit in and all the parking spots you don't have to search for (LA residents, do you feel me?)!

“We” were something, or maybe not anything at all. We talked every day, texted every day and saw each other frequently on the weekends. We held hands.

But apparently that doesn't mean anything, at least from his end and from what I assume.
Although he was an attention seeking whore and immature half the time, something about him drew me in. It was definitely his charm.

He had a way to make you feel special. You know, the type that says the right words to slowly make you fall for him? With any small gesture, such as bringing you flowers to your meeting “just because” to make you fall deeper. And his responses were, “Because you deserved them” or “I just wanted to see you smile.”

It's Friday, Friday... and I'm sooo not going to finish that song lyric. Here are a few things to look at and ease your mind into the freakin weekend!

Lovin this video on Looks vs. Personality.

Enjoyed this blog post/response about a "pretty girl" seeking a rich man...who eventually got shut down by a very rich man.

jane birkin iconic romances

Valentine's Day is tomorrow and I'm feeling all romantic and stuff.

Last week I gave you a spoonful of medicine to help the holiday go down if you're single, so today I'm getting all gushy and looking back on some famous romances that were aw-worthy...enjoy!

Valentine's Day Single Girls Hearts

I’m sure you’re aghast as to why I’m not writing about all the lovey-dovey shit you and your beau can do with chocolate sauce on February 14, but sorry, today it's all about the single girls. You get the rest of the year to dote on each other and lather up in edible sauces anyway.

February 14, if you’re single, can be good or bad. You can A) take it as an excuse to get drunk with your friends and eat a shitload of chocolate (screw points tonight!) or B) you can throw shade at anyone who’s an ardent believer in the Hallmark holiday.

So here’s what you should do if you're single:

Best pop love songs of the 90's and 2000's Mandy Moore

So last night I was watching old Britney Spears music videos, which is none of your business why, when I suddenly got the urge to look up a bunch of other poppy love songs I used to lip sync into a round hairbrush so hard my butterfly clips would fly across the room.

With that said, here are my super rad top picks for the best pop love songs of the late 90's/early 2000's. Enjoy:

1. Britney Spears - Sometimes

Sometimes I still purposely play this. And sometimes I re-enact the dance she does on the pier.

bad first date ideas wildfox hot girl picnic

First dates can really suck. I've had my share of them (read if you must here and here), and I'm sure you have too. So I can't help but want to improve your dating life by beating the following into your heads...don't ever do any of this on a first date:

Hiking, P90x or going to the gym: why do people think this is a good idea? Does talking about your job and favorite bands while out of breath sound fun? Does constantly brushing beads of sweat off your forehead while hoping your eyeliner is still in place sound fun? No? Then put your Vibram FiveFingers away! *If you're in great shape, then sure, go for it Jillian Michaels.

The beach: Have you ever gone to the beach and found yourself wading ankle deep in water and soaking in the view while sand sifts between your toes until suddenly, a wave knocks you out, drags you 200 feet and practically drowns you? Then you stand up but your bottoms pull you down because they're full of sand and your ass is hanging out, there's snot hanging out of your nose and you have sand burns all over your knees? This is why the beach is not a good first date. It's not a good look.
