What was your first kiss like?

What was your first kiss like? Recently, I was asked to share my first kiss experience, and honestly, I must have buried that memory in the deepest, darkest place of my brain and soaked it in a punch bowl of Glenlivet because it was HARD to remember.

I was 16 or 17, at a party, and my so-called BFF came up with the GRAND idea of playing spin the bottle to get my crush and I to kiss. I was so nervous and didn't want my first kiss to be in front of a bunch people, but I spun the stupid bottle anyway. What happened next was just my luck: I landed on a friend who I didn't want to kiss and my loyal BFF landed on my crush. She then planted a long, lingering kiss on him as I watched with fire in my eyes. Such fun memories!!!

All this talk about first kisses had me wondering about other people's experiences. So I asked a few friends to share their first kiss stories...enjoy:

"I don't count my first kiss until I was 17, I didn't count pecks or things like that. This was the full blown thing. My girlfriend at the time was 16 and we were at her house, she brought me upstairs and we started kissing in her room. Both of her parents were downstairs, so the thrill of that made it all a lot more exciting. We broke up about two weeks after that. After this first time, she had the worst breath." - Jesse

"I was in the sixth grade. I can't remember my age. That's too much math. His name was Joshua and we had been going out for a week. He had green eyes and his hair was curlier than mine. It was after school and I was waiting to be picked up by my mother. He walked me to the gate and we hugged. Just the hug alone was awkward so I was nervous for the kiss. I could tell it was coming. I just closed my eyes and he laid one on me. His lips were really wet and it grossed me out. I took a step back, laughed and then ran to the car." -Chelsea

"I was in eighth grade when I had my first kiss. I was 14 years old and I was going on my first cruise to Mexico. When you're a teenager, they have certain activities on the ship and during the early nights they open up the club on the ship. So, it was probably the third night on the ship and I had hung out with this group of friends and we decided to go to the club. It was super romantic because we were in the club and "smack that" was playing. Me and this girl started dancing with each other, which was also my first time grinding with a girl. And then I went in for it, I kissed her. And it was magical. So magical that I'm a huge homosexual now. The end." - Ryan

"I dreamt of kissing the prettiest girl in school. Instead, I smooched Claire." - Chad

"I’ve had a few fist kisses. I like to think that there’s a few significant “first kisses.” There's The First Kiss, where your lips touch another person’s lips and then there’s the other first kiss with your first love or someone you really just wanted to kiss. My first kiss ever was with a guy my in high school marching band. It was on the bus coming home from a football game and it was awkward. I think I even did that thing where you turn your head away really quickly because one kiss was enough. My first kiss with my first love was on the couch after a lunch date. We were sitting close to each other and we were both noticeably nervous. He kept talking and inching closer to me. I had a feeling what he wanted to do so I just said "I'm bad at these things," and he went for it. Those awkward moments are fun, not at the time maybe, but that's what makes first kisses memorable." -Michelle

  1. My first kiss was at age 6, with a guy younger than me by one year, the French kiss was the three of us, we with my girlfriend kissed him by turn, late at night, when they played in the family dorm hallway

  2. My first kiss was nothing romantic, it was unexpected and UNWANTED! The guy was courting me and took me out on a date. After we had dinner he drove me home and as I was saying my goodbyes and all that, he grabbed my head and kissed me! I didn't know what to do. I was 17 back then, I just literally froze there like a statue. After that night, things got awkward.and I never talked to him since.

  3. My first kiss? Ah...that's so long ago...my girlfriend then told me that I was kissing "too hard"...and that I needed to slow down and be more gentle. She was great - she slowly coached me to be a better kisser =D

  4. I had my first kiss when I was 15 with my first girlfriend! I can't even remember what exactly happened, one second we were talking, the next we were kissing.

  5. I had my first kiss when I was 18. His name was Matt and we were introduced to each other by my then roommate. He took me on a date and then sometimes after that (a couple of days later? can't really remember at this point), he leaned on me and kissed me. I remember how anxious I was. Not because I was scared how it would go, but because I wasn't sure that I wanted him to be my first kiss. But since we had been officially dating now, I thought why not? I will say this: there were no sparkles, no heart beating fast, no sweaty palms. When it was over I was pretty disappointed. I had that whole hollywood/disney image in my head. And that is how I knew that I didn't love him and that we couldn't continue to be together. Even though I lost a boyfriend at that time, I earned a real friend on whom even today I know I can count.

    1. What an eye opening experience! Sometimes a kiss is all you need to know if there's chemistry.

  7. I had my first kiss when I was 16. She was on the softball team, and I was on the baseball team. We were both in the same class, and we both had to leave at the same time. As we were walking through the hallways, we both wished each other luck on our games. After our hug, it just happened. She really wanted it as well, and we held hands on our way to the locker room.

  8. It was before the end of first semester. This was at the end of English class. I realized that it was lunch, and her group of friends left her alone at her locker. So being the gentleman I was, I accompanied her at her locker. After I walked her to lunch, she said she would meet me at a private part in the school. When we met there, she told me that I was the most intelligent and athletic guy she had ever met. I complimented her as well, saying she was really pretty and smart. When we both looked up, I realized what she had done. There was mistletoe on top of the tree. So we kissed after that. When lunch was over, we held hands until we reaches math class. The whole class clapped for us.

    2. In sixth grade I was dating some short skater boy named Jacob. Our first kiss was after school in a dark hall way that led to the theater stage, I had never kissed anyone before so I didn't know how to let him know that I wanted to kiss him. I leaned up against the railing in the hall and just stared at him, he immediately walked over to me grabed my head and stuck his tounge in my mouth! First of all I had been chewing the same piece of gum for like two hours. Second of all his tounge was in my mouth. I tried staying calm and let it play out but I couldn't! I pushed him aside and ran to the nearest water fountain, spat out my gum and rinsed my mouth. After that he told all his friends that I had a cat tounge, broke up with me and started dating my friend. Hahaha!
